Kenneth Powell, D.O.
Dr. Powell is a board certified physical medicine & rehabilitation specialist. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Alabama State University in 1996 and his doctorate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He graduated from the Temple University/MossRehab PM&R residency program where he was nominated chief resident and he is a graduate of the Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital.

Dr. Alan Miller, M.D.
Dr. Alan Miller is a physician leader of Coastal Injury Clinic and is board certified in interventional pain management and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He earned his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees, in 2000 and 2004 respectively, in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis. His residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation was at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his fellowship training was in interventional pain management at the same institution.
Dr. Miller has authored both peer-reviewed medical publications as well as published his own 2009 book, The 3 Minute Musculoskeletal & Peripheral Nerve Exam, for teaching physicians, residents and medical students.
Dr. Miller is a member of the American Pain Society, the Interventional Spine Intervention Society, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Andrew Medvedovsky, M.D.
Andrew Medvedovsky, M.D. is a neurologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain specialist, committed to alleviating the suffering of patients dealing with chronic pain.
Dr. Medvedovsky’s academic foundation began with his doctor of medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brooklyn College in New York. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, followed by a neurology residency and a pain medicine fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Medvedovsky held positions as an interventional pain medicine physician at various Florida spine centers. These experiences provided him with a comprehensive perspective on pain management.
His research contributions include his publication “Interventional Pain Management: An Appraisal and Evidence-Based Review” featured in a volume of Critical Reviews in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Medvedovsky’s bilingual proficiency in English and Russian further enhances his ability to connect with a diverse patient population.
Scott Schimpff, M.D.
Dr. Schimpff is board certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He received his doctorate degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2002. He completed his medical internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN and his medical residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. He then completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2007. Before joining Coastal Injury Clinic, Dr. Schimpff worked as the medical director of pain medicine and the director of the spine clinic for Sheltering Arms Hospital in Richmond, VA. He was a clinical professor and the site director of the pain medicine fellowship training program at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. Dr. Schimpff has research experience working as a molecular biologist at the National Institutes of Health. He is a member of a number of medical associations, including American Academy of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Jeffrey Brunelli, M.D.
Jeffrey Brunelli, M.D. is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon for Coastal Injury Clinic. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine following his studies in chemical engineering at the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School in Kentucky. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville, Dr. Brunelli excelled as a scholarship athlete, garnering three varsity letters and multiple academic awards. Following his freshman year at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, he transferred to further pursue medicine.
Dr. Brunelli completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Atlanta Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Colorado Hospitals in Denver. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with additional certifications in orthopaedic surgery from the American Board of Physician Specialties and orthopaedic sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Brunelli holds certifications in Carticel® Knee Cartilage Treatment, Oxford unicompartmental arthroplasty, and AO trauma training, enhancing his techniques in cartilage restoration and fracture management. His training in various shoulder and knee arthroscopy procedures includes SLAP tears, Bankart lesions, rotator cuff tears, ACL reconstruction, multi-ligamentous knee reconstructions, and meniscal repair. He maintains active affiliations with organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Brunelli has contributed to his field with publications and presentations focusing on orthopedic sports medicine. His dedication to education and leadership is evident in his roles at University of Florida (UF) Health – Jacksonville, where he served as Director of Rehabilitation and North Campus Medical Director. Additionally, since 2015 at UF Health, he held the position of Director of Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery before joining Coastal Injury Clinic.
Dr. Brunelli’s commitment to orthopedics is complemented by his personal interests and experience, including a background as a scholar and athlete. His accomplished life is further enriched by his loving wife and two beautiful daughters.
Christopher Netzel, M.D.
Christopher Netzel, M.D. is board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology. He earned his doctorate degree with University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison in 2014. Before joining Coastal Injury Clinic, Dr. Netzel was an interventional pain management physician at SSM Health in Madison, Wisconsin. He wrote the guidelines for dorsal root ganglion stimulation as well as conducted research on preoperative opioid use and outcome after spinal surgery. His medical residency in anesthesiology was completed at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. Later, Dr. Netzel completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
He is accomplished in the following procedures: injection therapies, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, intrathecal pump placement and management, kyphoplasty, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression. Dr. Netzel has also researched how gut microbes and metabolic syndrome may affect anesthesia. His professional presentations include stimulator therapies for vertebral compression fractures and diabetic neuropathy. Dr. Netzel is a member of a number of medical associations, including the North American Neuromodulation Society, American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists, American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Wisconsin Medical Society.
Dr. Timothy Sternberg, M.D.
Timothy Sternberg is a board-certified Florida physician with Coastal Injury Clinic. With more than 25 years of pain management experience, Dr. Sternberg has particular expertise in complicated pain problems, cancer pain, facial pain and vertebral compression fractures. Dr. Sternberg graduated from University of Florida’s College of Dentistry and the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. He trained at National Naval Medical Center Bethesda and the Medical University of South Carolina. He holds certifications with the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care.
He retired as Captain, Medical Corps, USN, following his last assignment as Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his time in the U.S. Navy, he practiced throughout the United States, Panama, the Persian Gulf and Puerto Rico. He earned numerous military awards, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Sternberg has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and has lectured widely to medical, nursing and dental groups.
Timothy Syperek, D.P.M.
Dr. Timothy Syperek is a board-certified podiatrist with Coastal Injury Clinic, where he provides comprehensive care for all aspects of the lower leg and foot. Syperek combines preventative options with surgical solutions and is one of the leading experts in diabetic wound care. Currently, Dr. Syperek is Chief of Podiatry at St. Vincent’s Healthcare and head of Coastal Podiatry in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Syperek received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and completed a residency at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. He has training in podiatric orthopaedics and sports medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital and in pediatric and adult podiatric surgery through his residency in Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Taking his studies overseas, Dr. Syperek completed a trauma fellowship in Russian Siberia’s Kurgan region.
While serving as an officer in the U.S. Army, and later in the civilian sector, Dr. Syperek helped to establish numerous multi-disciplinary diabetic limb salvage clinics. His international mission work includes helping to create a diabetic limb salvage clinic in Port Au Prince, Haiti, working with and teaching Haitian physicians and surgeons. He is involved in several multi-site clinical studies focusing on diabetic wound care and surgical intervention.

Richard Gamiz is a board-certified physician assistant who earned his degree from Miami-Dade College. Prior to graduation, Richard was a paramedic in Miami.
